Ill during your holidays? Toothache?... Not good, but it can happen.
The good news - The medical care in Gran Canaria is definitely very good.

There are English-speaking doctors, or at least with a translater and many of the with 24h service...
The overview here, should help you where to call ot to go in case you need a doctor, dentist or a pharmacy during your holidays!

Even if you do not want to think about it, it can happen that suddenly you need a doctor in Gran Canaria.
Of course, there is also 24h hours pharmacy emergency service in the south of Gran Canaria ...

The general medical supplies is offered by the Centro de Salud.
However, there are often very long waiting times and the doctors speak only Spanish - no translation.

The nearest Centro de Salud (next to Playa del Ingles) can be found in Maspalomas, on the road to Montana la Data on the right.

It is recommended to go to one of the private doctors/private hospitals. These are numerous in Playa del Ingles and surroundings.
Most speak good to fluent English (or there is someone to translate) and especially when you are ill, this makes it much easier.

You need to pay for the private doctors directly, it is definitely important to have a private travel health insurance.

The pharmacies are well recognized by a green cross.
In Playa del Ingles and in the south of Gran Canaria there is a pharmacy at almost every corner.
