Maspalomas Pride - Parade through the Streets of Playa del Ingles

The highlight of the Pride week - The big parade in Playa del Ingles.

...and there were two changes comparing it to the past few years: The parade has started later, at 5pm (a good idea) and the route was a longer (well, perfect)...

Then another thing: As mentioned a couple of times, the weather this Pride week was so very strange, not to say bad - On the day of the parade:
Just perfect, sunny and with blue sky...

So it really seems, that the "one" who is responsible for the weather is a friend of the LGBT community, isn't he...?

As said, new this year was that the route was a bit longer comparing it to past years...

From the Hotel Riu Palace, along the Av. de Tirajana, to almost "the end", passing by the Hotel AxelBeach Maspalomas and turned right behind the Hotel Rondo - From there with a big bow to the Yumbo Center, where it ended...

Shortly after 5pm the parade started - With 22 floats and many, many people celebrating the Pride 2016.

The local police said, it were more than 60,000 people (more than ever...), who celebrated in the streets of Playa del Ingles...

Of course, Saturday is far from over - the whole Yumbo Center is crowded.

With the Welcome Parade Party till 9pm and followed by a live stage show.
Of course, influenced by the ESC (Euovision Song Contest) which takes place in Sweden this evening...

On Sunday: Starting at noon the Freedom Gay Festival Pool Party at the Hotel AxelBeach Maspalomas and at 7pm on the main stage:
Freedom Gay Festival Remember Party...

With the presentation of the official date of the new gay event in Gran Canaria: Gay Freedom Festival (after the summer)... and hopefully with the dates for the Gay Pride Maspalomas 2017...
