Looking to the Future - The Gay Pride 2012 will come for sure!

After five big shows and nine days, the Gay Pride Gran Canaria 2011 is coming to an end! It was a great Birthday Party!

The Final Gala Show started with a speech to the audience, in Spanish by Fatima (Glay Board) and in English by Miss Beverly Hills!

The speech dealt with the issue of worldwide gay rights.

We in Europe (at least in most countries), especially in Gran Canaria, are so lucky , that we could life as we are!
But not far from our island, there are countries where homosexuality is punished and freedom is unimaginable.

In Gran Canaria, we celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Gay Pride and should always keep in our mind, that there are many people who lack, what we could celebrate today:

Tolerance, Acceptance and Rights

In the following minutes the donation checks were presented to the organizations.
The money that was donated by the participants of the Gay Pride 2011.

1 ACCM - ASSOCIATION CONTRA CANCER MAMA (Breast Cancer Foundation)

A check with € 13,010.00 was presented!

2 ACES - AMIGOS CONTRA EL SIDA (local HIV Foundation)

A check with € 9,500.00 was presented!

Great amounts of money, that will help these people who need this help!

The Final Gala Show started then spectacular!

Jo Francis in a fire-breathing Roman chariots, fire eaters, fireworks - what a great start on the main stage in the C.C. Yumbo.
The highlight of the great intro - across the audience in front of the stage hovered an angel in!

The show was hosted today by Jo Francis and Roberto Herrera, there were again many artists on stage:

• Tight Fit - back to the 80's with well known remix hits
• Rouven Tylor
• Ruth Lorenzo
• Moneiba
• Carol Jiani
• Cazwell - Hip Hop from New York
• Jo O'Meara
• Sonia - Represented Great Britain in 1993 at the Eurovision Song Contest

Also in this show there was something for everyone - Rouven Tylor, which also performed a song in German and who rocked the stage with Keep on Rolling, Ruth Lorenzo, presented her brand new Singel for the first time to an audience and Tight Fit, who entertained the crowd with cool Hip Hop sound!

The last artist, entering the stage during the Gay Pride in 2011, could not match better.

Azerbaijan won the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 and Sonia (Represented Great Britain at the ECS in 1993 and was 2nd placed), performed, among others, her song on the stage in the
C.C. Yumbo!

Not to forget the Essensual Dancers - a little highlight was a short Acapella by Jo Francis - a really great singer!

With I am what I am the Final Gala Show came to an end, followed by a spectacular fireworks!

We had a great, but very exhausting Gay Pride Maspalomas 2011!

They ensure that this great event will be carried out into the world and take care, that pictures and impressions of the Maspalomas Gay Pride 2011 will remain forever!

We hope we could provide you an impression of this event with our reports and pictures.

Once we have recovered a little, we will also create here a Best of Gay Pride 2011.

Tomorrow Sunday the Closing Party will take place in the C.C. Yumbo - without us, we are exhausted.

The date of the Gay Pride Maspalomas 2012 has already been fixed:
It will continue in 12 months, from the 07th till 13th May 2012.
