The Gay Pride and the Eurovision Song Contest - together a big party

It was a long time of waiting, but finally it bagan - the opening show and thus the opening of the
Gay Pride 2012 in Gran Canaria is over!

As always, so in 2012, the first show on the main stage in the C.C. Yumbo began with a 40-minute delay!

In addition to the Gay Pride, Maspalomas is celebrating the 50th anniversary as a tourist destination this year.

After some show acts at the beginning (drag queens, dancers and singers), the official welcome to Gay Pride Maspalomas 2012 followed.

GLAY (Gay & Lesbian Association Yumbo), represanted by Laura (Press Officer) and of course the community of
San Bartolome de Tirajana (Maspalomas/Playa del Ingles) represented by the mayor welcomed all the visitors and the
Pride 2012 was finally opened!

And now we realized why the motto of the first show was called - Eurovision.

On the stage performed various artists who have already represented their country at the Eurovision Song Contest and also many artists, performing Grand Prix Hits, celebrated the decades of this contest on the main stage.

First, and you will not believe this, Abbalicious performed Waterloo, the people woke up and began to celebrate!

Some well-known singers on the stage:

• Niamh Kavanaghis "In Your Eyes" - winner of the Grand Prix in 1993 for Ireland
• Katarina (former lead singer of Katarina & The Waves) "Love Shine a Light" winner in 1997 for UK
• Chiara, who represented Malta in 1998, 2005 & 2009 at the Grand Prix
• ... many other singers, who performed famous Grand Prix songs

The mood of the people was getting better and better, it was a nice and entertaining first stage show, of the Gay Pride Maspalomas 2012!

Shortly before 1:00am the first official part was over, but the people will for sure continue celebrating in the C.C. Yumbo and on the Opening Ball for a long time tonight!

Tomorrow at 8:00pm will start the Pink Night with Zumba Party and street entertainment - We are there for you, of course!
